Alkaline Smoothie Recipe

Alkaline Smoothie Recipe

Our resident recipe creator, The Happy Food Chef Robin Joy, brings us this alkaline smoothie recipe featuring herbs and greens, She's enjoying winter gardening with The Planted Wall, and she loves to add fresh herbs and leafy greens to almost everything she cooks!

Chef Robin Joy tells us that she's currently inspired by Jeff Primack's book "Smoothie Formulas: 120 Delicious High-Phytochemical Recipes."

If you're new to making green smoothies, Chef Robin suggests that you start out with just romaine lettuce. Then add in parsley or cilantro as your palate adjusts. She also notes that you'll want to experiment with different combinations to find the balance for your individual palate. Note that Chef Robin Joy uses a high-powered blender to get a super smooth consistency. Consistency results vary by blender.
